Honestly, I'm quite glad about not waiting in that stupid AA Rummage Sale Line. it was absolutely brutal. The line reached around 3-5 corners of two buildings...does that make sense? Either way it was SO NOT WORTH IT.
We asked one of the girls who was just at the front of the last section of the line, how long she had been waiting. She had been waiting there since 3:00 and by then it was already 5:30. Some people went at 11:00 and was at the front of the line, but still had another hour to wait until they were to go in.
So..here comes my rant about American Apparel. Why the hell is it so popular...and why the fuck is it so expensive? I know...it's made in Downtown LA with no labour. SO WHAT..? A lot of stores don't use sweat shops and besides, some of the clothes at AA looks so easy to make...like that Circle Scarf. WOOOOO look it's a big sheet sewed together...let's sell it for 34 dollars!! I can get that much material for less than 5 bucks seriously. Oh, and how about the t-shirts...23 dollars each...and they're just basics. Honestly, basics SHOULD NOT even be this expensive. It's so fucking ridiculous. WHY of course it's good quality, but even the good quality ones can be as less as 10 dollars. Hmm how about getting a pair of tights for 19 dollars...INSANEEEEE.
So there's no question why people would flock to this up to 85% off sale. Really, I don't think it's worth waiting in line for 6 hours to just go in and find everything ripped, dirty, or not in your size. Why is AA such a big phenomenon? Of course their clothes are very versatile...And they are that way because they are FUCKING BASICS!! Like what, you have ABSOLUTELY no idea what to match a white t-shirt to? Honestly, if you put your mind to it, you could probably make something just as good or even better. PLUS FOR CHEAP.
SO UP YOURS DOV CHARNEY, you and your creepy ways...and expensive clothing...
Honestly, with the time I would have wasted, I spent walking all of queen street and ended up buying a NICE winter coat from H&M, that would have cost me less than a flex fleece hoodie from AA. As well, a pair of jeans. Even after that, I would probably still be in line or if not, the warehouse would be closed and I would have wasted my time.
SO WASTE. If you're planning to go, honestly, it is so not worth it. you'll waste your time. BUT THEN if you do go, a piece of clothing would get an EXTRA 50% off if there's a HOLE the size of a TOONIE. WOW. BE THE JUDGE
